The end of March is already here......and I truly believe that Spring is finally here! Just after I was able to get out with the jogger stroller for a couple nice jogs, we had ANOTHER snowstorm, followed by cold weather for about a week. Now, it is finally starting to warm up again....this time, hopefully for good! :-)
Addison has had a couple exciting weeks.....including a trip to the Children's Museum with Annie on the 18th, a playdate with Levi (a friend in our building) at our house, a day outing to the arboretum and swimming with Benjamin (Ana and Chris' little one), and a 4 day visit from Opa and Jojo (when we ventured out for the Carolina game and to Stillwater for an afternoon). Addison LOVED getting to spend time with Opa and Jojo and they couldn't believe how much she has grown up! They were both successful at getting her to belly laugh..so hysterical! She loves to have her octopus dropped on her belly or "pop out" from behind a pillow. They got kisses too! Addison's new thing is opening her mouth wide and "kissing" you back! It is one of the cutest things ever!
Opa and Jojo brought some early Easter presents....which Addie had a wonderful time opening! Clothes, books and stickers! :-)
Developmental highlights include: chewing on our toes (totally in the mouth) when lying on her back, "swimming" when on her belly, attempting to pull up her knees when on her belly, standing with a little hip support to none at a low surface table with both hands for support, hating peas more than anything in the world (literally throwing a tantrum about them), teething like crazy, holding our own bottle up to drink, flipping the pages of a book (usually backwards)!!! Addison's list of foods now includes: rice cereal, oatmeal, bananas, pears, apples, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, butternut squash, green beans, avocado.....and we dislike all the greens so far! We'll keep working on it! :-) We are going to add plums, peaches, and mangoes next!
Enjoy the pictures from the last couple weeks!

I LOVE SITTING!

Addison is a big 6 month old now....and it is amazing what changes have come with this milestone!!! In the last two weeks Addison has learned to sit completely on her own and can play in this new fun position for long periods independently while mommy does things around the house! She is also learning to transition out of this position without having to scream out for mommy....although, she still has to learn how to get in to this position without mommy setting her up in sitting.
Addison is also loving standing with support at her music table and pounding on the keyboard and phone to make noise!!! She gets really excited and squeals!!
Addison has started to be on a nice schedule the last few days.....with awakening around 7 or 7:30am, taking a regular morning and afternoon nap, eating solids morning and evening (9am and 7pm), and going down for bed at 8 or 8:30pm still. She is generally sleeping through the night, but still having a few nights where she awakens one time......not sure if she is hungry, or just looking for a few minutes of company.....but luckily it is just some quick soothing and she is back out again!
She is no longer requiring her Swaddle Me sack at night either! Yeah! We just place her in a fleece pajama and place a light blanket over her legs for warmth. We thought that this would be such a difficult transition...but she does great :-), and seems to enjoy repositioning and sprawling out at night!
Addison had her 6 month pediatrician appointment and shots on the 9th.....ugh, 4 shots in the thighs plus rotavirus liquid to drink....yuck! As much as I dread these appointments and watching her scream when she is poked...she was quite the trooper this time and calmed easily. She had only a mild fever and sore thighs for 24 hours and then was back to her old self! What a big girl!
Addison is now 15 pounds 4 ounces....and 25 inches long! My big girl is growing quickly! She is in the 34th percentile for weight and 23rd percentile for length. As the doctor said, she is a healthy baby-just petite! :-)
Addie continues to eat like a champ!!!! She gets 1/4 cup cereal morning and evening, with a new vegetable or fruit every 3 days..... I spent a lot of time preparing homemade baby food this week.....we have green beans, carrots, squash, and sweet potatoes all ready to go! The first two fruits we are starting with will be pear and banana, because these can be easily mashed by hand fresh! Addison is loving trying new foods!
Addison had a fun weekend.....hanging out with Annie on Saturday and daddy on Sunday.....she watched the UNC game with daddy and friends at "Uncle Freddy's" house. Today we met Kristin and Addison's new friend Riloh (4 months) at the North Washington Cafe for lunch......someday soon they will be buddies.....:-)
The weather is starting to get nicer...thank goodness! Looking forward to some beautiful days with a high in the 40s and 50s.....will make for some more great walks outside and maybe a few rides in the jogger stroller!!! :-) We are on a mission to get Wally in shape.....and mommy ready for her 1/2 marathon the end of April!
Today we received Addie's 6 month birthday present from Opa and Jojo in the mail.....some super cute 6/9 month clothes....thank you! Addison loved tearing in to the package and shredding the tissue paper! We are looking forward to a visit from Opa and Jojo in just a week and a half.
Enjoy pics from the last couple weeks........game time with daddy, smiling after dinner in our highchair, playtime in our new dress, tearing in to our bday package, and showing off our belly on the floor!!!!

6 months old......happy 1/2 birthday Addison!!!

Go HEELS!!!!!
My cute new outfit from Florida!!!
Aw, so relaxed!!! My jeggings are getting a little snug!
Love my shape blocks......look at me sitting!!!
Mommy worries about my falling over, so she sticks me in this silly pillow! My O Ball!
My new March hat!!!! Thank you Opa!!!

Today is a special day in the Parker household!!! Not only did the Heels beat the Devils last night....but our sweet baby girl is 6 months old today! I can't believe that we have had her in our lives for 6 months already!
Addison is so BUSY lately.......squirming and rolling everywhere on the floor, doing tons of baby push-ups in tummy time-trying to bring those legs under her body, standing at the ottoman or her music table with assist, and sitting for 15-20 minutes at a time playing with toys unassisted!! Yeah, baby girl!!!
She is also loving her solid foods, and up to 1/4 cup of dry cereal mixed with breast milk morning and night, as well as a veggie in the evening! We are starting to introduce new foods every few days....she is having so much fun with this. Mommy is making some homemade baby food today and tomorrow to freeze in ice cube trays for easy preparation! We're planning on sweet potatoes, carrots, avocadoes, peas and bananas to start!!! :-) Yummy!
Addison is talking, talking, talking and squealing a ton too! She is full of smiles and giggles.....and truly an absolute JOY to be around!
Last night Addie went out to BW3 with us and cheered on the Tarheels....she did great! She was very stimulated by all of the TVs and people! Decked in her Carolina Girls t-shirt, she looked like a true fan! Yes, we are starting young!
To celebrate Addison's 1/2 birthday we plan to take her down to the North Loop Kids playdate in the community room of our building this afternoon.....she loves to look at other kids!
Happy 6 month birthday to my little sunshine....we love you!!!
Enjoy pics from the last week.....Addison obsessed with her Fisher Price shape blocks, Addison modeling in her jeggings and cute red fur sweater, Addison in her March hat from Opa! :-)
The week ahead: Addie's 6 month doctor appointment on Wednesday....and more shots :-( ugh!
